Hello all

Postby Alan » Sat Dec 24, 2011 2:10 am

Hi! My name is Alan. I live in the USA - in Chicago - and over several years have visited Thailand often. I usually take a class or two when visiting, and try to keep the studying momentum going when in overseas. Although my registration date for the site is today, I've been following the site for a while and have been really impressed and edified By the informative threads. The collegial tone and creativity make it such a great forum. I hope to be able to contribute as well as learn, but I am humbled by the level of erudition amongst the forum members. Although my own profession has nothing to do with linguistics, the aspects of the language that I find most interesting are the idiomatic and slang. By "slang" I do not mean profane language. I mean more the street talk which is creative and clever that one might see in a sarcastic article or even a comedy. Nice to meet you :) Alan
