Maybe I should explain. I was not testing your reading - that's your business. I was only suggesting that, perhaps the written language has a grammar and the spoken language, derived from the written one, does not. Like มีมักกว่า which, I would hope, is not grammatical, even if it is accepted usage. Perhaps the way to understand the spoken language, in a grammatical way, is to understand the written language and then try to understand what has been left out. Though I guess this simply constitutes notes to self.

คนไทยบางคน อาจเรียนรู้ภาษาอังกฤษได้จากประสบการณ์คลุกคลีกับชาวต่างชาติ
เช่น พ่อค้าแม่ค้าที่ขายของตามย่านที่มีฝรั่งมาท่องเที่ยวจำนวนมาก
ผู้ค้าบางคนก็มีการศึกษาที่ดี แต่ก็มีบางส่วนที่สามารถพูดภาษาอังกฤษได้เพียงเล็กน้อย พอเพียงสำหรับการสื่อสารเพื่อการซื้อขายเท่านั้น

Although we all have ways of learning language, my specific point was that, in the case of Thai (unlike any Western language), there is a written language and a spoken language. Some people here would like to "understand" the language. I suggested that, perhaps, some aspects of the spoken language cannot be "understood", but maybe they can be "explained" by recourse to the written language of Thai.
