I suspect that it is no more natural than ผมชอบอ่านหนังสือที่บ้าน. Why would it be?
It is just a little more information which the speaker wants to add for some reason.
If you are taking examples from a textbook, and 'sit' is omitted in a translation then perhaps it shouldn't be omitted.
