pronunciation of อนาคตกาล and อดีตกาล

Postby John » Wed Feb 16, 2011 5:53 am

I notice from the dictionary that "อนาคตกาล" is pronounced with a "ตะ" between "อนาคต" and "กาล". The same pattern is not used with between the syllables of "อดีตกาล". Is there a rule that governs this pronunciation?

Actually, the RID does have consistency:

อดีตกาล, อดีตสมัย [อะดีดตะกาน, ตะสะไหฺม] . เวลาที่ล่วงแล้ว

The T-L.com dictionary will be fixed to reflect the RID's pronunciation. Thanks for pointing out the error.
