BTW Do you have any comment on ปกติ? According to this dictionary, it has two implicit 'a's, although, with my limited Thai, I would have gone for an implicit 'o' followed by an implicit 'a'.

That's a really curly one, because the word also exists spelt 'ปรกติ' (bprokL-gaL-dtiL), but since in speech many Thais drop the 'r' from the cluster, what you hear is 'bpokL-gaL-dtiL'. :?

Understood. Thanks. :)

My "family" is from Korat, so this would be the word they are using.

To nit-pick, the first element of รัฐมนตรี is the Pali word รฏฺฐ (รัฏฐะ if you want the fuller writing currently in vogue), and yes, the morpheme boundary is why I felt it was a secure example. If I take the derivative ราษฎร /raːtF saʟ dɔːnM/ of the corresponding Sanskrit word ราษฺฏฺร, someone may try arguing that that ษฎ is an impure cluster.

The full entry for ปกติ gives both pronunciations.

It does look like สด.

Ah, yes, I see the RID entry for ปกติ.
