Question to native Thai speakers: I need some audio records

Postby kbeloturkin » Wed May 11, 2011 9:12 am

สวัสดีครับ! ผมชื่อกนส์ตันจีน ผมเป็นคนรัสเซีย ผมเรียนภาษาไทย

Hello! My name is Konstantin. I am from Russia. I am interested in Thai language and culture. I have already visited Thailand 3 times, and I am learning Thai by Benjawan Poomsan Becker course. I also use all the available internet resources.

Now, let me explain my idea.

There are lots of Thai language teachbooks for English-speaking learners.

But, unfortunately, there is still NO good Thai teachbook for Russians! (Which could be written in Russian, and based on comparison between Thai language and Russian language). All the available books I could find are in English ONLY!

That is no problem for me since I speak English quite well. But I want more Russians could learn Thai! I strongly believe that language teaching is more effective when it is based on learner's native language. Phonetic explanations, grammar explanations etc. are different depending on what is your native language.

For example, Russian does not have aspirated consonants ph, th, kh (, , ). When teaching Thai to English speakers, they are just compared to English "p", "t" and "k" sounds. However, when teaching Thai to Russians, special explanation of aspiration and phonetic exercises are required. However, Russians do not experience any problems with Thai unaspirated consonants p, t, k (, , ) since they exist in Russian, unlike in English. There are more and more examples to explain why it is so important that language teaching is based on learner's native language.

So, I want to make learning Thai closer and more available for all Russians who are interested in your language!

I have decided to write a Self-teacher of Thai in Russian with all the explanations for Russian people. I am doing this work by myself. Currently I have completed an introduction, Lesson 1 and Lesson 2, and I am working on Lesson 3 already.

So, why am I addressing to Native Thai speakers? The reason is I want to supply my Self-teacher book with real audio samples of Thai pronunciation.
And therefore I need some Thai volunteers to help me in making the sound records. I do not want to do it by myself since I surely have a foreign accent.

There will not be too much work to do: I will need just a few short audio-exercises for each of my lessons. I can send some Thai syllables for every exercise I need (written in Thai script already), and the only thing you should do is just to send audio files with those syllables back to me (*.wav, or *.mp3 etc.). This would take about 10 minutes for every lesson.

I would like that help from a Thai volunteer with good Thai pronunciation (not a dialect, but official correct Thai as spoken in TV etc.).

By doing this, you will help promote your beautiful language among Russian people!

I can accept 2 options:
1) Maybe the volunteer can do it for free (if he/she enjoys helping with Thai pronunciation)?
2) Or, if I need to pay something, we can come to an agreement. Probably I can pay some little money for every Lesson.

Thank you in advance! Koopkun krap!
