Repeating ผมเป็นหมอครับ, I have to care for my mother's tongue. My mother's language is near to extinction. My mother language is high German.

Literacy might be another matter to discuss because it does include reading comprehension.

I also don't like really 'literacy' (implies directly illiteracy as counterpart) in this context. We just tried to find a better term - still without success.

But I understand that you agree putting อ่านเขียนหนังสือไทยไม่ถูกต้อง in a nutshell (literacy, 'read'n and writ'n' ... or something like this)?!

The common Thai phrase for "[is] literate" or "has achieved a level of literacy" is "อ่านออกเขียนได้".
