sweet, just needed a translation 2 days ago and noticed the little speaker symbol below the thai box..before it wasn't there and you could only rely on the phoenetics or try to sound out the thaiscript which is difficult for me.. whtdoya think of it.. was using it to tell my GF somethings and it seems pretty accurate, now i'm using it along with the lessons to learn.. definitely a welcome addition to my lessons, OK!

We have a problem, my GF is telling me it just screwed up a basic translation:

what did you learn in school today?

it says:
สิ่งที่คุณไม่เรียนรู้ในโรงเรียนวันนี้?

ไม่เรียน

shouldn't that be ได instead of ไม่ ?

เรียน on its own means learn and ได้ before it makes it past tense, if you think you need it.
สิ่งที่คุณได้เรียนที่โรงเรียนวันนี้? 'things you learnt at school today? ที่ and ใน both mean the same, but I think that 'at' is used more than 'in' as a straight preposition.
The question mark makes it a question I suppose but you can make it a question in Thai too.
You replace สิ่ง thing with อะไร unspecified thing (what) to make a question, like this;
คุณได้เรียนอะไรที่โรงเรียนวันนี้ . You learnt what at school today?
You could say; Today you learnt what at school? or At school today you learnt what?

เรียนรู้ is a verb in its own right, it isn't right here.

Google Translate Now Speaks gibberish

Granted the Engrish translation when pasting Thai into Google Translates is sketchy at best, but then it's been like that since it rolled out. It was also never that good for pasting English in and getting really coherent Thai out the other side either. So I’d say there’re no great surprises in that regard.

However; I just checked Google Translates speaking function for Thai, by pasting some Thai tongue twisters off thai-language dot com, and then some blocks of Thai text from the Matichon news site into it.

That spoken voice spits out some pretty darned clear Thai. It is certainly enunciated clearly enough and spoken at a slow enough pace for even a high-beginner to follow along with it.

I dunno how it’d be pastin’ chat-speak Thai into it, but seeing as I don’t chat w/thais, I don’t care all that much.
