The definition of ผิดชอบ in the thai-language dictionary says "the consciousness that helps you tell right from wrong"
The breakdown of ผิดชอบ gives ชอบ in it's primary standard meaning of "to like; to prefer;" etc. But on the page for the definition of the word ชอบ, the last definition is more likely the correct one for the expression ผิดชอบ, i.e., "virtue; goodness; morality".
Also, in the definition of รับผิดชอบ, the expression ผิดชอบ is broken down into ผิด and ชอบ and points to the definitions of these words separately, rather than pointing to expression ผิดชอบ.
Of course, it is only through the support of the forums here that I even knew this alternate definition for ชอบ existed. I am no expert on multiple meanings of Thai words!
