As I have a tendency to completely forget about my Thai skills while university is busy, I decided to at least learn three new Thai words on a daily basis some time ago. Since that I basically add three words to Anki every day.
So I thought why not share them here in our Forum. For those who have far more advanced skills than I do (who are many in this Forum) this might not be helpful, but I thought if there is just one person who probably will gain new vocabularies through this thread then it is worth doing it.

Of course it is possible that I misunderstand some words so please feel free to add corrections or additional meanings or anything else that is on your mind.

Thai Words Today:
ขยับ
[ขะ หยับ]
to move oneself; to move about; to reposition one's body; to budge
to move slightly, to change position, to stir (move slightly), to adjust, to shift
ไม่ เคลื่อน (difference: e.g. only hand movement without actually moving position)

[กริยา] เคลื่อนไหวหรือทำท่าว่าจะทำอย่างใดอย่างหนึ่ง เช่น ขยับปากจะพูด ขยับปีกจะบิน ขยับดาบ.

From a movie subtitle I saw yesterday:

Also, I have seen นักกฎหมาย used as an alternative for lawyer, though how it differs from ทนายความ I don't know.

There is also ค่าจ้าง for 'wages', as in ค่าจ้างขั้นต่ำเป็น 300 บาท (The minimum wage is 300 baht)

I wonder if ค่าจ้าง and ค่าแรง are slightly different -- perhaps ค่าแรง tends to indicate work that is more manual and less regular?

after you mentioned ค่าจ้าง i asked my friendly thai adviser and it seems to be the way you mentioned. Probably แรง also indicates more physical work. + i got a 4th word for anki

Oh and probably the 2nd translation in our dictionary here provides another distinction: labor/labour cost. So... just a wild guess but maybe this term will be used more often for economic topics (fromt he perspective of the company).

A Thai accounting text has the following:

ค่าจ้าง - payroll
ค้าแรงงาน - wages

The Royal Institute Dictionary says,

"ค่าจ้าง (กฎ) น. เงินที่นายจ้างและลูกจ้างตกลงกันจ่ายเป็นค่าตอบแทนใน
การทำงานตามสัญญาจ้างสำหรับระยะเวลาการทำงานปรกติเป็น
รายชั่วโมง รายวัน รายสัปดาห์ รายเดือน หรือ ระยะเวลาอื่น หรือ
จ่ายให้โดยคำนวณตามผลงานที่ลูกจ้างทำได้ในเวลาทำงานปรกติ
ของวันทำงาน และหมายความรวมถึงเงินที่นายจ้างจ่ายให้แก่ลูกจ้าง
ในวันหยุดและวันลาที่ลูกจ้างมิได้ทำงาน . . . "

". . . (legal) noun. The amount of money which a business owner and his employees contract for or agree on to be paid for work performed on a normal basis, such as hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or other time period, or an amount to be paid based on production or output during normal business hours. The term also includes amounts paid during days off when the employee is not working. . . ."

The RID does not have a separate entry for ค่าแรง or ค่าแรงงาน.

Lexitron shows:

ค่าแรง /kʰâːˑrɛ̄ːŋ/ [N] wage Syn. ค่าแรง,ค่าจ้าง,ค่าตอบแทน

Example : บริษัทรับเหมารายนี้จ่ายค่าแรงไม่ครบและไม่ค่อยตรงเวลา
(The contractor has not paid if full wage liability nor has it paid its wages timely.)

Your source seems to think that คัดจมูก is a word, and I might have thought it was, except that it also appears in the definition of คัด ว. แน่นหรือตึง. คัดจมูก. The examples of วิเศษณ์ show that the วิเศษณ์ follows the word it describes, คัดจมูก is wrong.

Naturally much of what we read is wrong, and someone will say that it is in some dictionary or other but it isn't grammatical, just thought it worth a mention.

I basically look for words that could be interesting for me or that I could need later on and then search in this dictionary here first.

I might have chosen the wrong term "words", what I meant is more something like vocabularies including collocations
