iPad and RID

Postby Tgeezer » Fri Apr 12, 2013 5:02 am

There is only one thing preventing me from ditching my lap-top; the inability to read o'o;AAa"-A@'N' (approximately what I see) when going to the the RID on-line.
The same thing happens on the lap-top but thanks to the forum I was able to change it to Thai. Must I keep the lap- top or is there some way of rendering the RID legible on an IPad?

I can see so many Thai people playing with their Iphone that I suppose it is not so difficult to add the thai script.
have a look at this site :

I hope this works, but the trouble with the RID is that they use Latin-11, I think, which has the same code points as Latin-1 (and Latin-3, etc). In other words, it is not possible to tell what language they are using. So the iPad/iPhone won't know either.

Thanks chaps ,this is the most likely reason, I come to this conclusion because it is the one I can't understand!
There is no way to make changes to appearance on Safari( the iPad search engine) as there is with MS Explorer. Using Google search, the opening page appears in Thai but when you enter a word and hit ส่งคำคนหา the result is the aA'@'n' language.

You could try simply copying and pasting the RID into an input box on this site (bulk-lookup or post-a-reply). I think there is a bit of magic which converts the TIS-620 (Latin-11?) to Unicode.
