I'm having second thoughts about the use of computers in learning -- I think they're a fabulous tool, but I think they can be over-used.
For example, the core of my learning is a daily run through my flashcards (I normally get asked 80 questions a day out of 4000 cards). And while I know these words in this learning environment, I cannot dredge them up quickly enough for conversational purposes. It's something to do with context, I think.
Also, computers are great for storing volumes of information, but if you are not careful, you don't review a lot of that material --there's simply too much, and so it ends up being of little use.
So I'm going to add a paper notebook to my learning resources, like I did with languages in the past. Notebooks are full of accidental context; you have to make the physical effort to write the words (which may be good imprinting in itself); and you often end up reviewing the material when you flick through the notebook to find a new page to write on.
