Cannot get sound files to "speak".

Postby tod-daniels » Fri Jun 29, 2012 2:56 am

For some reason after I started using FireFox 13.1.01 I can't get any of the sound files to play.

I've went to settings and can't even get them to test play. :(

Now I freely admit I'm not the craftiest p/c person out here in internet-land  , so perhaps there's an easy explanation to this.

Still I miss hearing the sound files. :?

Thanx in advance, and sorry if this has been covered before.

Tod,

Click on "Site Settings" below the F.A.Q. in the left-hand column and go through the testing process. Firefox apparently needs to install a Windows Media Player addition in order to have the sound system work correctly.
BTW, this technique also is required for Chrome.

Let us know if this helps with your Firefox installation. Thanks.

Hii.

I have installed the windows media player plugin.
The "test embedded WMA" button works.
The settings are set to use WMA and streaming.

However the speaker icons next to text do not work. Nothing happens when I click on them.
I use Firefox 15.0.1
