I'm just wondering if this thing kind of has the feel of a very slang accolade....here in the 'States there's a very colorful and influential slang language that has been given the name Ebonyx - mostly an urban langauge phenomenon often showing up in Rapp music and other culturally specific manifestations of Ebonyx. Well, i'm looking at เป๊ะเวอร์ and getting the feel of something like "Too On". "My man that bag is fly and yo 'da blazer is TOO ON". The meaning is its "slammin'" "off the hook" etc etc. The "too" is the เวอร์ and the "on" would be the เป๊ะ (exact, precise etc). Could she have been saying that you, or that the trip to the islands, or maybe the whole experience is just "Too On" ? if the วัยรุ่น's are infact using that term, i would sure like to know.

I just checked with her and yes, it does mean exactly perfect, or wonderful.
The equivalent of "off the hook" or "slammin'" is pretty much on the money. I had never heard of "too on" but that sounds like it is very much the same as Pay Wer!
She was telling her friend that our island trip was "too on" - and she was absolutely amazed that I was able to get the meaning - pay wer pay wer. :D

I was definitely barking up the wrong tree (หาเลือดกับปู?) until i think it was Simon who asked the right question (how to spell Pay). Then everyone got it! Lingua-liscious indeed, that one! :D

Well Pirin's reference to a chat;
ใส่เพชรตอนกลางวัน จะดูเว่อร์ไปไหมคะ;
Does wearing jewelry in the daytime appear too เวอร์ (slammin off the hook)or not ?
ไม่ให้คนอื่นตำหนิว่าเว่อร์ได้.
Don't give the opportunity to someone to criticize by saying เวอร์(slammin off the hook) about the way you dress.

Do these วัยรุ่น's understand it correctly?

Apparently most slang of this type starts with Airline cabin crews, the environment is conducive to jargon, facebook and other creations used by intellegent people might produce similar new words. Later the slang is fashionable as it seems is everything 'gay" and adopted by the trendy set at large, abandoned by the originators and forgotten.
ชีมี is one example, how often do we here that now? It was used so that Thai speaking passengers couldn't know what the crew were saying so it has to be changed when it becomes mainstream.
That's my theory anyway and I am sticking to it. :D
