To pick something up from somewhere

Postby Naga » Tue Apr 28, 2020 11:28 am

I'm trying to understand how to convene to pick something up from somewhere in Thai.

For example in English:

Bob went to the dry cleaner to pick up his laundry.
I'm driving to the airport to pick up the my friend.

บบไปร้านซักอบรีดเอาเสื้อผ้ามา Alternative words for laundry ร้านซัก ร้านซักผ้า
‘Dry cleaner‘ Is too much information
ผมขับรถไปสนามบินรับเพื่อน
คับที่อยู่ได้คับใจอยู่ยาก

So you used เอา when referring to "picking up" items and รับ when referring to picking up people?

I do and it seems to work. Welcome = ต้อนรับ to herd-receive. So someone has arrived and you receive and take charge of them, I am using the receive part of that expression.
เอา is the verb ร้บไว้ eg. เขาให้ก็เอา they are offering it so you take it.
