I've been sitting in front of plastic for too long but one mission is still uncompleted:
I'm trying to work out กระแต 's latest (?) albums' title track: รักน่ะฉึก ฉึก
opening: ดูเด่ะ ดูัเด่ะ ดูเด่ะ ดูอ้ามทำเป็นหน้าบึ้ง
เอาน่ะ เอาน่ะ เอาน่ะ เอาน่ะ อย่ามัวแต่หน่าบึ้ง
The above two line refrain repeated twice, more shouted than sung.
The aforementioned Ms. กระแต, for want of a more appropriate title, is the quintessential leggy, slender, well-formed, brainy, ok, Hot twenty-something with talent for dancing and singing, at the very least. And its my guess that the song is a rather classical mud-throwing fest at the inept, spell-bound young suitors who would inevitably hound her those times she is in public space.

Sung much more softly: เหงา เหงานะ ฮู้มะอ่ะฮู้มะ จะงอนไปถึงไหน ง้อแล้วนะ

I pass as an "intermediate" Thai speaker in the US, certainly a beginner in Thailand. I did my utmost to ensure that I copied the lyrics from the DVD accurately, knowing that บึง comes up as swamp in our dictionary here and so หน้าบึง means basically, (I would take it) "It Stinks!". If in the DVD it is written หน่าบึ้ง, I can only guess that that reflects the tone of the singers voice as reflected in the melody. Of course I expect most lyrics to be slang, innuendo, and plays on words generally, music and lyricism being the art forms that they are. That's the fun of it. Have at it!

The lyrics seem to be in the Isan dialect.

Ok. It has clearly been established that this thing I was working on creating, this round thing with some sticks going to the middle, with another round thing in the middle of that, which goes over and around a straight thing, has already been invented and is called: A Wheel!
But knowing there is an easy way to do something should in no way preclude a little loyalty to doing it the hard way.
The issue of where to find the lyrics for various Thai pop songs and the like aside, What Do They Mean? ??? Assuming that most readers of this forum have the basic 1000 words somewhere in their fallible memory, can it not still assumed to be the case that song lyrics in general are aphorical, or figurative, to use a non-invented, if somehow less apt word, and that the literal translation of said lyrics would read very poorly in the second language?
What does it MEAN?
Anyone want to take a stab at one line or two?
