i had no idea it meant that i always heard it was used by thai people on westerners to literally mean bird shit westerner
i heard it was used by thai people on the foreigners who were back packers and stayed in youth hostels because they had no money. I was also told by a thai person not sure if he was being serious that it was used on foreigners with red/ginger hair because its the same colour as birds faeces which i replied birds faeces are black

ฝรั่งขี้นก =Red inside guava fruit.
Thai isn't prefer red inside fruits, that means they're poor quality.

The westerner (ฝรั่ง) is called as the same as guava (ฝรั่ง) in Thai, it look like a joke. If rich westerner is ฝรั่ง, then poor westerner is ฝรั่งขี้นก.

My guess is that the word ฝรั่ง came from mispronunciation of the word France, since French Republic is called ฝรั่งเศส in Thai.

However, ฝรั่งขี้นก has different origin. It is just a name of various species of guava fruit.
