An example of this concept would be someone opens a coffee shop on the street and after people see it doing really well, next thing you know there are 5 coffee shops in the same street (This seems to be quite common in Thailand)
Do the Thai have a way of expressing this? In English we would call the shop owners who copied the original idea 'copycats'. This is a mildly derogatory term that implies that the copycat doesn't have the will or the ability to come up with an original idea of their own and simply copies someone else who seems to doing well (usually to the detriment of the person with the original idea)
I looked up copycat in a Thai dictionary and found เลียนแบบ. However I thought this described the other meaning of copycat which is someone who mimic's someone’s actions or behaviour for amusement.
