Beggar's last words

Postby biacowry » Mon Jan 16, 2012 6:58 pm

I was communicating with a beggar in Chonburi, by using a paper notepad. We drew cartoon pictures at each other to communicate. In the end, I used Google Translate on my Android phone to write "I must go", and he wrote the following:

What did he say to me?

ผมจะไปแล้ว - I gotta go now.

Looks like ผมละไปแล้ว to me.

As for me, I'm already gone.

Sounds like Barney Gumble's last line in his movie 'Pukahontas'.

"Don't cry for me, I'm already dead."

I wonder if the beggar meant it that way? :(

The dictionary is showing how 'got to' might be heard, and people have to learn that we merge words together but we don't write them like that. In Thai, comic book writing is quite popular, I think because Thai is tonal.
I was asking if จะไปแล้ว has any imperative implied in case any non native English speakers may think that 'gotta' meant other than 'got to'.
Is ต้องไปแล้ว . havtago or gottago ? :?
