On the golf course yesterday I was keeping my mind off the awful process of playing by singing the parody to the Colonel Bogey march. This aroused the interest of one of our group who recognized it from a film which I had never heard of. Older posters may know the film 'Bridge over the River Kwai' in which I think this song also featured.
It is a 2nd World War song in which the sexual equipment of the Nazi leadership was described. Because my friend was interested in the meaning I translated as;
Hitler มีเพียงไข่ลูกเดียว and was stopped there, because in Thai that is ทองแดง.
Since having only two syllables where the original has five I couldn't make it fit I had to carry on less tunefully and was able to convey the other interesting facts attributed to Georing who has two but very small, all the way to poor old Geobbles who was totally lacking.
Long winded I know but in looking up; ทองแดง ๒ น. ชื่อจิ้งหรีดชนิด Gryllus testaceus ในวงศ์ Gryllidae ตัวยาว ประมาณ ๒.๘ เซนติเมตร
As you can see the blocked word looks encourageing but not having any Latin to speak of, I couldn't believe my luck, could this creature share some features with Hitler?

If not that, does anyone know why one testicle would be ทองแดง?

I think the derivation is different, unfortunately.

In biology, a 'test' is a word meaning shell, so a species that is 'testate' means it has a shell, like the Arcellinida.

So the adjective 'testaceus' would be used to denote an animal with a pronounced shell, see Phymatodes testaceus.

Test, as a 'shell', derives from Latin testum, an earthern pot, rather than testis, which is the word you are perhaps seeking.

Thanks to all. The second site was in a code which I couldn't read the pictures were gruesome and I am glad I didn't have to read it.
The first site was good reading but for เนี้ย เค้า มหาอุตย์ เบียม and I don't know how the misfortune can be called ทองแดง originating from the egg of a ทองแดง.
However with three syllables and the confidence of knowing it is fact I might be able to fit it into the tune.

However with three syllables and the confidence of knowing it is fact I might be able to fit it into the tune.

According to either superstitious remarks or medical information, the symptom of "โรคทองแดง" or "ทองแดง" is not related to the animal called "ทองแดง" at all.

Anyway, I had better not translate what they say about "โรคทองแดง" in the links; besically, a friend, who is a doctor, might try to avoid talking about it or tell me to ask google should I ask him what "โรคทองแดง" is.

As to rhyming with Albert hall I think I can fudge it, the syllables matching the tune are enough for me.

That looks to me as though the person likes to consume both literally and figuratively making it habitual.
