Translation help

Postby yashida » Sat Jan 29, 2011 11:52 pm

Hello.
I would like to translate the word "Chino" in Thai, as it is written as a proper name.
In internet I found "Chino as a language " and จีน as China and Chino but I'm not sure you type the same in males than in females, because the meaning is different.
Forgive my English because I am Spanish and it's not very good.

As a proper noun it means China so you found it, there is another form Sino but in Thai they just say จีน, there is no masc.or fem.
If someone has been given that name(not impossible  ) then you could just reproduce the sound; จีโน ชีโน
If you refer to the cloth 'chino' or pair of trousers 'chinos' you prefix the above with ผ้าจีโน for cloth and กางเกงจีโน for trousers.

Thank you very much for the reply. It really is the name of a cat :-).
In Spain, cats are called saying "michino, michino..." and mine at the end was left with "Chino" :-)
Now he has died and needed to confirm the name in Thai.
Again, thank you very much for everything.
