 This colorful fishing village is along the beach in the city of Songkhla in Southern Thailand. The village was bustling with activity during the evening of June 24, 1997. For example, the children on the sandbar are enjoying a game of soccer. Also notice the intricate wood carving on the fishing boats. When these teak boats are retired, they will probably be replaced with bland modern designs since they cannot be replaced now that wood is so scarce in Southeast Asia. |
