There's been plenty of news about criminals entering Thailand under false pretenses, and I recently found a description of the Thai terms used for the various ways in which passports are misused:
1.“ปลอมทั้งเล่ม” หมายถึง ทำขึ้นมาใหม่ทั้งเล่ม (Completely fake passport)
2."ปลอมเฉพาะบางส่วน" หรือ “ผ่าเล่ม” คือ ใช้พาสปอร์ตจริงของผู้อื่น แต่เปลี่ยนภาพให้เป็นของลูกค้า ซึ่งวิธีการนี้เป็นที่นิยม และ (Passport with altered photo, though presumably this could refer to an alteration of any other details as well.)
3.“ปลอมหน้าเหมือน” โดยพาสปอร์ตเป็นฉบับจริงทั้งเล่ม แต่ให้ผู้ครอบครองที่มีหน้าตาคล้ายคลึงกับบุคคลในภาพถ่ายในพาสปอร์ตนำไปใช้แทน (Passport used by someone who resembles the actual passport holder).
