[นาม] พระธรรมคำสั่งสอนของพระพุทธเจ้าซึ่งมี ๓ หมวดใหญ่ หมวดหนึ่งเรียกว่าปิฎกหนึ่ง คือ พระวินัย พระสูตร และพระอภิธรรมซึ่งโดยมากเรียกว่า ปรมัตถ์, ใช้ว่า ไตรปิฎก ก็ได้.
