notes(37) 17. This is another example where จะ is more appropriately translated as ‘might’. Since the meanings of individual aspect morphemes are not the focus of this thesis, I do not go further into investigating the detailed meaning of จะ and whether or not its aspectual (‘be about to’) and modal (‘might’) uses correspond to two different meanings.
