ย่ำ /ย่ำ/
[กริยา]	เหยียบหนักๆ ซ้ำๆ, ถ้าเหยียบในลักษณะเช่นนั้นอยู่กับที่ เรียกว่า ย่ำเท้า, เดินในลักษณะคล้ายคลึงเช่นนั้น.
[กริยา]	ตีกลองหรือฆ้องถี่ๆ หลายครั้งเพื่อบอกเวลาสำหรับเปลี่ยนยาม เรียกว่า ย่ำกลอง ย่ำฆ้อง, ย่ำยาม ก็เรียก, ถ้ากระทำในเวลาเช้า เรียกว่า ย่ำรุ่ง (ราว ๖ น.), ถ้ากระทำในเวลาค่ำ เรียกว่า ย่ำค่ำ (ราว ๑๘ น.).
