ยูง ๑ /ยูง/
[นาม]	ชื่อนกขนาดใหญ่ในสกุล Pavo วงศ์ Phasianidae ในฤดูผสมพันธุ์ตัวผู้จะมีขนหางยาวและมีแวว เพื่อใช้รำแพนให้ตัวเมียสนใจ อาศัยอยู่ตามป่าโปร่ง ชอบร้องตอนเช้าหรือพลบค่ำ กินเมล็ดพืช แมลง และสัตว์เล็กๆ มี ๒ ชนิด คือ ยูงไทย (P. muticus) หงอนบนหัวตั้งตรงเป็นกระจุก หนังข้างแก้มสีฟ้าและเหลือง ขนส่วนคอ ส่วนหลัง ตลอดไปถึงปลายหางสีเขียว และยูงอินเดีย (P. cristatus) หงอนบนหัวแผ่เป็นรูปพัด หนังข้างแก้มสีขาว ขนส่วนคอและอกด้านบนสีน้ำเงิน.
