เล่นสาดน้ำไม่ใช่รดน้ำดำหัวซึ่งเป็นประเพณีอีกอย่างหนึ่ง คือแสดงความเคารพต่อผู้ใหญ่โดยเฉพาะคนเฒ่าคนแก่ในเครือญาติ
